Perfect weather greeted us as we ate our bacon and egg breaky on arrival at Jindabyne, we were carbo loading, I swear ;)
The trails are well mapped, which meant even we could find our way around pretty easy, and most trail heads are signposted with blue or black run markers, the blue runs would see us off the bikes and pushing around 30% of the time, mainly due to a lack of fitness after 3 weeks off, these runs are full on climb then descent, rarely flat, great fun, but demanding when it comes to pedalling fitness and gear selection. This would be heaven if I was fit!
The black runs are out of this world, we were unable to attempt any of them, they were harder than anything I had ever seen before, lots of hairy northshore (see the photos).
Overall a really well put together and well thought out bunch of tracks, lots of variety from the easy to the insane ;)
If had to compare it to something in Canberra, it would be an upscaled version of Auto Alley at Majura Pines, lots of sudden climbs and descents, with rock gardens, challenging stuff!
I look forward to coming back when I am fitter and can hopefully remember the runs and go a bit faster with confidence (we took most of the runs gingerly, not really exploiting their full potential, just incase there was going to be an expected obstacle along the way, but there never was).
