I set out for a solo explore of Penrose today, a favourite memory from the Highland Fling, but I stupidly took a wrong turn halfway around, crossing a creek I shouldn't have at the Southern end of the park, once over the water, I headed North, but could never get back over into Penrose (the water blocked me), I could see the cliff top I knew I wanted to be at, but alas, it was out of reach.
Next time... ;)
Instead I got a lovelly country ride along tree lined dirt roads, with views over farm land and moo'ing cows, not a bad second option. The Southern Highland is a beautiful place for a ride no matter where you go.
