What a ripper Anzac Day weekend, 22'C, clear skies and fresh air. Perfect weather :)
We headed out from Lanyon in the cars to drop Simon's Clubby at Orroral Valley, it did take some time to do this, around 1:20 to drive down to Orroral, then turn around come back up via Tharwa and over to Corin for a 9am start on the bikes. The big drive turned out to be very worth it though...
The track starts out as a slight climb to the top of the range, then it's 20 minutes of ripping water bar filled descent, a riot. Another short climb and it's on for round two, ripping down into the Orroral Valley below, the view before was us awesome, but I couldn't take my eyes of the ground 2 meters ahead of me for fear of death :)
One at the Valley floor, it was only 10am, so Neil had the wise idea of climbing the Orroral ridge, as he and I both recall the awesome descent on the other side from a ride many years back. Turns out the 200 vertical metre climb was worth it, time for a rest at the summit, then even more screamng downhill to back to the cars.
This ride was a little like the Talbingo run I did last year, lots of fast downhill, but this track was slippery, loaded with jumps and tight corners... lotsa fun!
