The usual 3 Thursday riders were joined by
Warrick for the last after work MTB for season
98-99.
Kinda depressing to know this was the last after work
run for the season, but that was motivation to go
twice as hard on the downhills of Isaacs.

Having
now figured the best climb to the top, we headed from
the car park to the concrete climb that leads to the
bitchumen trail to almost 3/4 of the way up. The rest on
fire trails and we were at the top.

Taking the
same downhill as last time we started from the top (at
the saddle point between Omalley hill and the
southern end of Isaacs Ridge, pretty much in the middle of
the ridge, directly opposite the quarry) and took the
right turn about half way day down. This lead to a
track that was hellish to say the least. No jumps, just
lots of skinny trails that kept turning back on
themselves and heaps of 6 foot dips to challenge
us.

Loads of fun, but I must admit I faultered on a couple
of those dips, they are huge and with little speed
built up from the amount of tight turns, they're a
challenge too :)

Making it back to the bottom we
climbed the same road again and took the same downhill
enjoying the man made jumps much faster than the first run
and taking the better left hand turn half way and
racing to the bottom.

A great place and by far
the most challenging I have done. Will try and get to
Majura this season to compare, I hear it's very
similar.
