A quiet social ride today around the lake.
Started at 10:00am at the Aquarium, went anti-clockwise
around to the first bridge and returned.
Great
areas where the path snakes through trees, with the
lake visible not far away. Encountered quite a few
people on the south shore, including a triathlon, about
30-40 roadbikes passed close by. Also passed rental
bikes, and a legendary dude getting around the lake on a
scooter (manual power). I tried one of these new scooters
at a bike shop, great fun, and even more dangerous
than when we were kids!
The final few kms back
to the Aquarium sees some great downhill runs
through the forest. Mikey got upto about 49km/h. Jodie
and Marcel joined us for the first time, Jodie doing
the most work on the day, armed only with an older
road bike.
