The early start was a good call as we got the
ride done by 11am and missed the heat and sunburn we
would have received from a 10:30 start.

Some
minor technical issues with Dave, Di's and my bike
delayed the start a bit, but some quick team work and we
were away.

Our intention was to head for Mt
Majura, but the turn is somewhere near the bottom (start)
of the big climb? I missed it and we headed up the
big climb and down the otherside, the turn I thought
was for Majura, ended up taking us over our first
creek crossing, it was around 1-2ft deep and fun to
take at speed! We ended up at Campbell Park Offices
where we split up into two teams (mad boys and normal
people). Neil, Mikey and I took the direct route back to
the War Memorial heading due West and enjoying some
seriously deep dips, awesome fun at speed but glad the
girls didn't follow as they were a bit hairy (the dips
not the girls!). Straight back to the War Memorial
for war stories while we waited for the others as
they took the longer but safer way via road from CPO.

Overall a good run and the one big climb revealed an
excellent downhill run at speed of upto 39km'h. Could come
back for my third run at this one :)
Pissed that I
missed the Mt Majura turn off, but now no where it was,
will do it next time!
