Simon, Neil and I had another go at getting into
the tracks I had seen from the air behind Tuggeranong
Pines and Mt Melrose.

We started at the same
'Old Tuggeranong Rd' carpark and headed straight up
the hill to the railway tracks. A spot made famous by
my brother trying to smear his brains all over the
place in my youth :)
At the railway line we tried to
ride along it to see just how bumpy the sleepers on
the line are, and yes they are damn bumpy :) A
one-off experiment that one!

We found a trail
headed E-NE from the rail line and cruised that way on a
rough goat track through the bush until we found a wide
fire trail, we then followed that back toward the pine
forrest and tried to find some decent fun in there, but
there wasn't :( We found the Old Tuggeranong Road and
headed flat out out down the sometimes dirt, sometimes
bitumen downhill as fast as we could go, hitting almost
60k over the rutty and pothole filled track. Good
fun.

All in all, a pretty average ride and now I have
found those tracks I realise they weren't that good.
Probably won't come back here as it's fairly
average.
